I sit here tonight with about a foot of snow outside…hard to believe we have our first event next Saturday, Feb 20th. I'm getting excited to start playing again and feeling some of our Texas heat. Your board has been hard at work preparing for the 2010 season and I think they have done an outstanding job so far. Marilyn Weiss, Events Chair, has at least one event every month at very competitive rates and this year each event will have a charity theme attached. Ann Wright and Jan Marsell are your Social Chairs and have been busy preparing our Kick Off Event on March 9th (Tuesday). Donna Watson and her Communications team (Judy Pugh, Gwen Jones, Starla Peninger) have been improving our communication processes. Astrid Bradley, League chair, has three leagues set up right now at Mansfield National, Texas Star, and Champions Circle ,and is looking to add a fourth. Marjorie, Julie, and Johanna have already been meeting with the other Texas chapters for this year's Lone Star Cup competition. Amber Birmingham is this year's Chapter Championship Event Coordinator. I could go on and on but… (I'll save you…for now).
We will get to hear more details during our Kick Off and if you can't make it the information will be shared via the web site, e blasts, and our newsletter.
Lots of work has been done but there is still much to do in many areas. If you would like to be more involved I am looking for an event coordinator for our End of Year event and a committee to research our chapter history. Contact me if you are interested.
